For The Idea You’ve Had Since…, Build ALONG the Way.

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Build ALONG the Way respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit our website, purchase or access The Idea You’ve Had Since…, contact us or choose to receive marketing communications.

We collect and use only the limited information needed to process your purchase, provide and secure your access, respond to enquiries and, where you choose, send marketing communications.

We do not receive, read or store the answers, reflections, plans or other content you enter into your workbook. Those remain locally in your browser on your device.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Data controller/trading name: Build ALONG the Way
Business structure: Sole trader
Business address: 4th Floor, 18 St. Cross Street, London, EC1N 8UN
Email: hello@buildalongtheway.com
Contact: hello@buildalongtheway.com

2. Information relating to a purchase

When you purchase the workbook, we may process information necessary to administer the transaction and provide your product.

This may include your name, email address, product purchased, price and currency, order or transaction reference, payment status, refund or reversal status, your marketing preference where applicable, and information reasonably required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, security and legal compliance.

Some information is supplied directly by you and some may be received from the ecommerce, checkout or payment providers involved in your transaction.

Payment-card information is processed by payment providers.

Build ALONG the Way does not directly store your complete payment-card details.

3. Information used to provide secure workbook access

To provide and protect your workbook licence, we may process limited information relating to your name, purchase email address, licence, purchase entitlement, secure authentication sessions, active-device records, access timestamps and technical or security information reasonably necessary to provide access and prevent unauthorised use.

We use this information to provide the product you purchased, secure access and administer the personal two-device licence.

4. Your workbook answers stay on your device

Your workbook answers are different from the purchase and access information described above.

The answers, reflections, notes, plans and progress you create inside the workbook are saved locally in your browser on your device where browser storage is available.

They are not transmitted to Build ALONG the Way.

This includes exercise answers, reflections, One Page Plan content, 90-day planning activities, conversation exercises, locally calculated progress and information entered into the workbook's AI prompt-building tools.

There is no automatic cloud synchronisation of these responses between devices.

Build ALONG the Way cannot read, retrieve, correct or delete workbook answers that exist only on your device because we never receive them.

You can remove locally stored workbook information using the workbook's controls or your browser or device settings.

You may also download a private backup.

If you use a shared browser profile, another person using that browser profile may be able to see locally stored answers.

5. Why we process personal information

Where UK data-protection law applies, we use appropriate lawful bases for processing.

Contract: where processing is necessary to process and administer your purchase, provide secure product access, administer your licence or provide customer support.

Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable tax, accounting, regulatory or other legal requirements.

Legitimate interests: where necessary to protect the security of our services, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain appropriate business records and investigate or resolve technical or customer-service issues.

Consent: where consent is required, including where you actively choose to receive marketing emails.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it.

6. Purchase and service emails

If you purchase the workbook, we use your email address to provide and support what you bought.

This may include secure sign-in links, purchase and licence information, security communications, responses to customer-service requests and important information affecting the product or your access.

These communications are part of providing and supporting your purchase.

7. Optional marketing

Marketing is separate from your purchase.

If you actively choose to receive marketing emails, we may send you occasional communications about related Build ALONG the Way resources, new products, updates and offers.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe facility in a marketing email or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not remove your purchased workbook access and does not prevent us from sending essential service communications.

We may retain a minimal suppression record after an unsubscribe so that we can respect your preference and avoid accidentally adding you back to marketing unless you later choose to subscribe again.

You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time.

8. Contacting us

If you use our contact form, we process the information you choose to provide.

This may include your first name, surname, email address, optional telephone number and message.

We use this information to respond to your enquiry and manage any necessary follow-up.

Submitting a contact form does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.

9. Service providers and sharing

We use selected third-party providers to operate the business and deliver our services.

These may include providers involved in website hosting and infrastructure, ecommerce and checkout, payment processing, transactional email delivery, email marketing, security and technical services, and professional accounting, legal or administrative support where required.

We share only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your locally stored workbook answers are not provided to these services by the workbook.

10. International processing

Some service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data-protection law restricts an international transfer, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism where required.

You may contact us if you would like further information about safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.

11. Browser storage and similar technologies

The interactive workbook uses browser storage to save workbook answers and progress locally on your device.

This storage is used to provide the workbook functionality you request.

Build ALONG the Way does not receive the contents of those locally stored workbook answers and does not use them to profile or advertise to you.

If you delete browser storage, change browser profiles or use another device, your locally stored workbook information may no longer be available unless you have created a private backup.

If non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies are used elsewhere on our website, we will provide any notice and consent controls required by applicable law.

12. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.

This may include periods necessary to provide and administer access, maintain security, respond to customer-service enquiries, keep accounting and tax records, establish or defend legal claims and comply with other legal obligations.

Marketing information is retained while you remain subscribed or while otherwise lawfully required.

Where you unsubscribe, we may retain minimal suppression information so that we can respect your preference.

Workbook answers stored only on your device are not retained by Build ALONG the Way.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information that we process.

No internet or technology system can guarantee absolute security.

You should protect your email account, secure access links, authorised devices and any workbook backup files you create.

14. AI tools

Some exercises allow you to create optional prompts for use with an external AI service.

Build ALONG the Way does not automatically send the prompt or your workbook answers to an AI provider.

If you voluntarily copy or submit information to an external AI service, that provider will process the information you choose to provide under its own terms and privacy arrangements.

15. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, UK data-protection law may give you rights including access to personal information held about you, correction of inaccurate information, erasure in certain circumstances, restriction of processing in certain circumstances, data portability where applicable, objection to certain processing and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

You have the right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.

These rights cannot give Build ALONG the Way access to workbook answers that exist only on your own device.

To exercise a relevant right, email hello@buildalongtheway.com.

16. Privacy concerns

If you have a privacy concern, please email hello@buildalongtheway.com so that we can try to resolve it.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where applicable.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy where our practices, technology or legal obligations change.

The current version and its last-updated date will be made available through our website.
